Who we are
Finbound ("we", "us", "our") operates finbound.org - a platform that helps students and graduates prepare for finance careers through application tracking, personalised study content, knowledge testing, and Fintelligence application tools (including CV optimization, cover letter optimization, application answer review, video interview practice, telephone interview practice, and superday interview practice). For privacy enquiries contact contact@finbound.org.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide when you register (name, email, university details where applicable), application and study activity within the platform, payment information processed by Stripe (we do not store full card details), content you upload to Application Tools (such as PDFs, text, and interview recordings), and technical data such as IP address, browser type, and usage analytics via Google Analytics.
Interview practice recordings
Video Interview Prep and Superday Interview Prep may request camera and microphone access. Camera access is used only for a live in-browser preview on your device. We do not store, transmit, or retain video from those tools. Only the audio from your answers is sent to us for transcription, analysis, and storage so we can provide feedback and saved results in your account. Telephone Interview Prep records audio only. Transcripts, scores, and related feedback may be retained while your account is active and as described in Retention below.
How we use your information
We use your data to provide and improve the Services, personalise study recommendations based on your application pipeline, process subscriptions, send service-related communications, analyse product usage, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
Legal bases (UK / EEA users)
Where UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we process personal data on the basis of contract performance (providing the Services), legitimate interests (analytics, security, product improvement), and consent where required (e.g. non-essential cookies).
Sharing and processors
We share data with service providers who help us operate the platform, including hosting (Netlify), payments (Stripe), email delivery (AWS SES / SendGrid), and analytics (Google). These providers process data only on our instructions and under appropriate agreements.
Retention
We retain account and usage data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to resolve disputes, enforce terms, and meet legal requirements. You may request deletion subject to exceptions required by law or legitimate business needs.
Your rights
Depending on your location you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. UK users may also complain to the ICO. Contact contact@finbound.org to exercise these rights.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. See /legal/cookies for details on specific cookies including Google Analytics.
Children
The Services are intended for users aged 16 and over pursuing higher education or early-career finance roles. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
International transfers
Your information may be processed in the United Kingdom and other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date below reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated where required by law.
